To qualify for enrollment the applicant must meet the following requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree with a GPA of 2.75 or higher
- Subject areas are approved by having a Major in the subject area OR 21 credit hours of college coursework
- Unless the intern is pursuing special education (emotional or learning disabilities) or just Elementary Education then, the intern can be admitted with simply a 2.75 GPA or higher (no specific coursework needed)
- Bachelor's Degree with at least a cumulative GPA of 2.5-2.74
- Intern MUST take and pass the Praxis Core exam before admission.
- We will not calculate the last 60, the intern must take the Praxis Core exam.
- Bachelor's Degree and If the cumulative GPA is below 2.5
- We can calculate the last 60 GPA OR use 21 credit hour GPA
Subject areas are approved by having a Major in the area or 21 credit hours of college coursework (Middle/Secondary/Elective area). Approved subject areas are then outlined in the admission offer.
§ Candidates who completed a student teaching assignment through a college/university are disqualified automatically.
§ Elementary and SPED (Emotional Disabilities or Learning Disabilities) are automatically approved if the cumulative GPA is above 2.75. Candidates with a minimum of a 2.5 GPA must also take and pass the Praxis Core exam.
