Upon passing their MTTC exam and their federal background check coming back clear, candidates in the Michigan Teachers of Tomorrow program will need to apply and pay for an Iterim Teaching Certificate (ITC) through the Michigan Online Educator Certification System (MOECS).  


The advisor should send the candidate an email template located on the KB with screen shots titled MI - Applying for an Interim Teaching Certificate Email Template.


Upon the background check coming back as clear, the advisor should update the contract tool with an application for the ITC and mark it as "not applied." 


  1. Access the contract tool in the advisor portal of Prince 
  2. Scroll to the bottom and select "Add New Certification." 
  3. Under "Certification Type" select "Interim Teaching Certificate," and under "Certification Status" select "Not Applied," and hit "Okay."
