The Michigan Department of Education requires candidates enrolling in an Alternative Route Program to hold a bachelor's degree or higher from an institutionally accredited university.

Official electronic transcripts must come directly from the university to Michigan Teachers of Tomorrow and can be sent to transcripts@michiganteachers.org

Official paper transcripts must be mailed into to our houston office at

Michigan Teachers of Tomorrow

2401 Fountain View Dr. Ste 700

Houston, TX 77057

Official paper transcripts sent via mail do not have to come directly from the university.  If the candidate has official transcripts already opened at home, they can send those in as long as the transcripts are on university letter head, stamped and contain the university seal reflecting the official version of them.

We do not accept photo copies, pdfs from the candidate directly or any unofficial versions of transcripts.

Once official transcripts have been received, they will be attached to the candidate's application under the "Documents" tab.

Once received,  processing time is about 5-7 business days.

Once processed, the fulfillment anaylst will update the Education and Work History tab in Prince.

Advisor should check for a minimum of a bachelor's degree, 2.95 GPA and "Processed Transcript" note. (See GPA Exceptions)

The fulfillment anaylyst will make a transcript processing note in the applicants account and will indicate IF additional transcripts are required before the intern is eligible for their Interim Teaching Certificate.

Supplemental Transcripts:

The Michigan Department of Education requires that we have all official transcripts on file for any school the candidate attended for 21 credit hours or more that contributed to their bachelor's degree.

Fulfillment will make a note when processing the candidate's bachelor's degree to indicate if we need additional transcripts and from what school for the intern to qualify for an ITC.

For Example: in the screen shot above, the intern will need to send in official Monroe County Community College transcripts before qualifying for an ITC.
