Pre-Admission Content Test
There are 3 reasons an intern would need to take and pass a PACT exam.
- GPA exemption (GPA is between 2.3-2.499)
- Restricted Exams (Business and Finance, LOTE: Spanish, or Social Studies 7-12*)
- No 12/15 hour admission cert area found on transcripts
GPA Exemption:
- Must have an overall or last 60 GPA of 2.3-2.499
- Resume and work experience is approved
- Intern can take ANY PACT exam (We typically recommend testing in the area they want to teach in)
- Once PACT is passed they are eligible to be offered admission as long as all other enrollment requirements are met
Restricted Exams: See Restricted Exams
- If an intern is interested in certifying in either Business and Finance 6-12, LOTE: Spanish EC-12, or Social Studies 7-12* they must pass the corresponding PACT exam
- Intern must pass the specific PACT exam that correlates with that cert area. i.e. 776 TX PACT Business and Finance 6-12 or 713 TX PACT LOTE: Spanish EC-12 or 732 TX PACT Social Studies 7-12
* For Social Studies 7-12 the intern ONLY has to PACT if they do not have at least 2 history courses on their transcripts.
No 12/15 hour admission cert area found on transcripts:
- If our fulfillment team is unable to locate a 12/15 hour admission cert area on the intern's transcripts the intern must PACT into the program
- Intern can take ANY PACT exam
- We recommend taking a PACT exam in the area they want to teach in
