This sprint release includes updates for TX regarding the workflow when candidates are prompted to establish payment, NC RL form restriction if the intern has not established payment, and the deferral option removal for All States! Additionally, work has been completed for upcoming changes to be able to offer monthly subscription options for IN, NC and FL.

TX Workflow for Establishing Payment

Currently interns are prompted to establish payment once we have received and processed their SOE.   Now, with new changes, interns will be prompted to establish payment immediately after they have submitted their job form through their intern portal.

Once the intern submits their job form and we have employment on file, they will receive the following notification to establish payments.

When they click “continue” they will be taken to the program fee–financing options page.

Additionally, as long as the intern has employment on file and have not established payment, every time they log into their intern portal they will be taken immediately to the program fee-financing options screen to establish payment.

The TX workflow once hired includes the following:

  1. Intern submits job form via portal
  2. Intern establishes payment for their program fees
  3. Intern sends SOE to school district for them to fill out and send back to ToT
  4. Intern applies and pays for Intern certificate through TEA
  5. Texas Teachers reviews submissions to move forward with recommendation once requirements are verified.
  6. TEA issues Intern Certificate

NC RL Form Restriction

The RL form will not populate under the contract tool for certification support if the intern has not established payment for their program fees.  No payment established = RL Form in gray

All States – Deferral option of enrollment fees removed

Previously there was an option to “defer” a portion of the enrollment fee under the contract tool of applicant accounts.  Now, with new updates, we have removed this option as we no longer use the deferral option, rather we apply a discount.

Now there is only an option to apply a discount (when approved by management)

All States (with FBEs) Denial option after approval

Our FBE team will now have the option to deny field-based experience after the experience has previously been approved.  This will trigger an automated email to the intern indicating they should check their portal for the reason.

Coming Soon!

Monthly subscription option for IN, NC, and FL!

Our IT team has worked to make it possible for us to offer monthly subscriptions in the near future.   Although we are not going live with these changes yet, they have done the work to offer a monthly subscription option at the time of enrollment that will help to reduce the amount the intern pays once hired.

For Example: The intern selects the monthly subscription option at the time of enrollment for $99 a month.  If they pay for 4 months before they get hired, they will reduce the total amount due once hired by $396.

The proposed launch dates (subject to change) for the following states are:

Indiana: Rollout July 16th - $19.99/month

North Carolina: Rollout on July 23rd - $95/month

Florida: Rollout on July 30th - $99/month
