Compliance is running a pilot for select testing areas.  A group of interns were emailed indicating they have been selected to participate in this pilot.

If the intern opts into the pilot, curriculum/compliance will add the diagnostic assessement in Prince.  The intern will see and access it via the Intern Portal under Menu> Training Progress> Content Test Prep.

Our Team should NOT add these D- exams to an intern's account.  But, if we see it on an account it is a way to know this person has opted into the pilot.

A select group of interns were emailed the below email indicating they have been selected to participate in our pilot.  Should the intern choose to participate they should complete the survey and notify TOT by emailing stateops@teachersoftomorrow.org

Dear TOT Candidate,

Congratulations! Based on your previous academic record, you have been selected to participate in a pilot initiative for candidates seeking certification.

The objective of the pilot initiative is to allow candidates like you with stellar academic backgrounds and previous academic preparation in their selected certification area to demonstrate preparedness for your certification exam through the completion of a diagnostic exam alone, without the accompanying required test preparation module. Successful completion of the diagnostic exam on your first attempt will allow you to receive a test approval from Teachers of Tomorrow to take your certification exam. Note, the test preparation module will remain available to you regardless of your participation in this pilot.

The test preparation modules are approximately 12-15 hours, depending on your certification area, therefore the ability to forego this training, if desired, will save you time.

If you are interested in this opportunity, you will be required to pass a free diagnostic test (accessible through Canvas) on your first attempt with an 85% or higher. If you do not pass the diagnostic on the first attempt with the required score, then you will not be eligible for this pilot and will be required to take the exam preparation module to help you review tested content per our standard testing policy.

If you do pass the diagnostic with this score, please email stateops@teachersoftomorrow.org so that we can then provide you with your test approval, allowing you to then register for your exam through Pearson.

If you pass your exam (including all sub-tests if applicable) on your first attempt by April 15, 2024, we will reimburse you $150 to cover the registration fee for your exam.

Important Dates:  To be eligible to participate in this pilot, you must meet the following deadlines:

  • March 1, 2024:  Complete the survey indicating whether you would like to participate in this pilot
  • March 15, 2024: Notify TOT staff that you successfully completed the diagnostic
  • April 15, 2024:  Pass your exam on the 1st attempt (including all sub-tests if applicable)

Given your strong academic program, we are happy to provide you with an alternative option to demonstrate proficiency which may help you save time and money.

If you have any questions on regarding this initiative, please contact: stateops@teachersoftomorrow.org  Please include Testing Pilot, Your Name, and TEA ID in the subject line.

Sincerely,

Teachers of Tomorrow"

Only Compliance or Curriculum will add these approvals for this diagnostic.  Advisors and Program Fulfillment should NOT add any of these diagnostic exams that start with a D. on the intern's account.

If an advisor receives a call or email with questions about the pilot they should gather the intern's questions and send them over to stateops@teachersoftomorrow.org and copy the intern.
