The updates affecting advisors in this sprint release include restrictions to the NC intern portal when submitting FBES, and restrictions to the intern portal for TX interns when requesting a critical exam area for a 2nd attempt.

NC - Portal restrictions for FBES

If an intern is submitting their in-person FBEs, at least one hour must have taken place at a low performing school.  An early sprint released included the addition of the button the intern must click on to indicate if the school they completed their experience at was low performing or not.

Now, further restrictions are in place to prevent the intern from submitting all 12 hours without at least one hour being at a low-performing school.

For Example:  John Smith has 6 approved FBE hours.  He is trying to submit 6 additional hours but they are not at a low-performing school.  John will receive the following message.

TX - Portal Restrictions on 2nd Attempt Test Requests for Critical Area Exams

There are 10 identified certification exams as critical areas.  Texas Teachers has changed the procedure and policy for interns requesting a second attempt at the exams in these areas.  See Critical Area Exams.  Restrictions have been placed in the intern portal to prevent interns from receiving a 2nd attempt approval without first following our instructions for test prep and college credit hours.

Columns have been added under the Approved Tests section for "Total Attempts" and "Last Attempt Date."

If an intern is requesting a Critical area exam for a 2nd attempt they will receive the following message

When they click on "here" it will populate a PDF with instructions on the test prep and college courses they will need to complete to receive a 2nd attempt approval for the exam.  See attached PDF
