The changes affecting advisors in this sprint release include updates to the NC field-based experience page in the intern portal, and grade bands added to the admission certification areas for TX candidates on their offer of admission.  Additionally, early release changes went out on 12.21.23 with updates to the TX application to capture teaching preferences on the TX application to reflect in the advisor portal and for all states the ability to disqualify an account from offered admission status.  

 

NC – Field-Based Experience

Interns now have access to a field-based experience letter, a list of what qualifies for field-based experience is listed in the intern portal, a link to a spreadsheet of all low-performing schools is listed,  and a full FBE checklist is provided for download.

The FBE letter will outline requirements needed for qualifying FBEs.

Additionally, when the intern logs their field-based experience they will be prompted to indicate if their experience occurred at a low-performing school.  The submission will not allow them to submit unless this field is indicated.

TX – Admission Cert Area Grade Bands Added 

When accepting the admission offer, interns will now see the grade bands included in the admission certification area selected prior to their offer of admission.

Disqualifying Account in Offered Admission Status: All States

Currently, advisors can only disqualify an account if it is in applicant status.  Now, the advisor can disqualify an account for someone in offered admission status if they are no longer interested in pursuing the program.

Once you click on Disqualify, you will be prompted to select the reason before disqualifying the applicant.

Application Update: Texas Only

The application to Texas Teachers of Tomorrow will now include a section where the candidate can indicate their desired certification area.  This will allow both advisors and fulfillment to educate the intern that we will review their transcripts to try and meet their subject area preference for certification.

The new teaching preferences will appear in the candidate's Prince Profile under the Admission tab.
