    We are so excited to get you enrolled and my role as your advisor is to ensure you are set up for success and have everything you need to unlock phase I of the program.

    Your immediate next steps are to create your intern portal and pay your enrollment fee to get started.  What do you know about the price and payment structure of our program?

    How to handle: The goal is NOT to push but rather listen, support and create a plan.

    •  Validate their feelings, circumstances, or situation 
    • Help them take a step back and plan
      1. "As your enrollment advisor, I want to help you achieve your goal of teaching which often means a little extra planning and resources.  If you have a few minutes, I'd love for us to still focus on your goal of getting to phase one so let's break down some things you CAN do while you work towards your financial plan."  
        1. Start with understanding the timing that works best for them. 
          1. "I understand financially this is not the best time for you to start the program, our goal is to make this program financially achievable for all of our candidates and you are the expert in that area.  In thinking about your financial plan, when do you think it makes the most sense for you as it relates to timing and finances? "
        2. Start with thinking about an alternative payment route 
          1. "You shared that you'd like to start teaching as soon as possible.  I want to support that goal but understand that finances are a barrier right now.  What financial options have you considered thus far?  We have some candidates who look into personal loans through their bank to cover the expense of the program as they often offer lower monthly payments and extend out the term of the loan.  Is that something that you have considered?"  
        3. Start with a small step
          1. "You shared with me that you don't have any experience in the field just yet, what if you take the next few days to do some research for teaching openings in your district or neighboring districts to look at the availability and salary of teaching positions so you can begin to build a realistic plan for financial success while planning for program success."
