Outbound calls will be auto-dialed from Five9 to interns who have just completed their training/required courses.  The purpose of these calls is to congratulate them on completing their training and go over their remaining phase I requirements to earn their SOE.

These Calls will appear in Five9 as "Training Complete" and should give you a 2-minute warning before the call is made.

Below are some talking points you can use to help guide your conversations.

Prior to the call: Confirm if the intern is late hire or regular hire.  The advisor should check the intern's progress thus far.  Have they started their FBES? Have they passed their test prep or even their exam? Adjust your talking points according to their progress.

Talking Points:

Hello Intern, my name is XXXXX and I am a program advisor with Texas Teachers.  I am calling to congratulate you on completing your required courses and training! How did you like them?  You have made great progress so far and I'd like to go over your next steps.  Is now a good time?

Great! first, I would like to verify your account, can you provide your first and last name and the email address on your account?

Thank you for verifying your information.  Now that you have completed your training, let's review your remaining requirements to become eligible for hire and earn your Statement of Eligibility.

(Adjust your talking points based on the requirements the intern has already completed thus far.  i.e. intern has done 12 hours of online FBEs already, you would advise on the remaining 18 hours needed, etc.)

Testing:

Your first step is to focus on passing your content exam(s).  I see you are currently approved for XXXXXXX exam(s).  Is that the area you want to certify in?

If Yes: “Great! What made you choose XXXXXX as your certification area?”

  • Review test prep requirement and location in the portal- must pass before approval
  • 30-day free trial to TLL
  • Send test registration email as follow-up to call

If No: “No worries, you can gain approval for the exam for XXXXXX certification area.”

  • Review test prep requirement and location in portal
  • Review requesting an exam through their portal
  • Send test registration email as follow up to call

If Late Hire:

Once you pass your exam(s) you will gain access to your SOE and be eligible for hire!”

  • Review 90 school day requirement to complete FBE and Training
  • Send late hire email template next steps as follow-up

Field Based Experience:

Once you pass your content exam you will want to focus on completing your field-based experience.

  • Do you have any long-term substitute experience?

If Yes: “Excellent, when did you complete or gain that experience?”

  • Confirm it's within 2 years of the enrollment date
  • Review LTS form through the portal

If No: “No problem at all, we have a few options to complete your field-based experience.”

  • 30 hours required
  • Up to 15 hours can be completed online (if they have not already done so)
  • Provide details on what counts for in-person FBEs: a variety of classrooms, grades, and subjects, participation, TEA-accredited campus, up to 6 hours in a day, etc.
  • Review FBE letter in portal for intern to use to arrange in person FBEs
  • Review FBE Submission form and location in portal

"You have made such great progress so far, keep up the momentum! we are thrilled to be partnering with you on your journey to teaching."
