As part of the steps the intern must complete once they have job, a background check is conducted for all candidates before they can qualify for their Interim Teaching Certificate (ITC). Background checks are conducted only after the intern has passed their MTTC exam and have been hired.  


The advisor should follow the steps below for the intern to move forward with a background check. 

Step 1: Send the intern the back ground check authorization form attached to this article. The intern should return it to [email protected]   

Step 2: Once the authorization form has been filled out by the intern and returned to [email protected] the advisor should email it to certification support at [email protected] 

Step 3: Certification Support will process the background check through the people facts website and update the account.   If additional information is needed, Cert Support will email the advisor back to request it from the intern.
