Hello INTERN,

Congratulations! Michigan Teachers of Tomorrow has reviewed your credentials and is pleased to offer you admission into the Michigan Teachers of Tomorrow Certification Program.

Please read this email closely as it will answer most of your questions about how to start your requirements.

  1. Intern Portal - http://bit.ly/3684jPJ

Shortly, you will be receiving an additional email from noreply@teachersoftomorrow.org prompting you to set up your Intern Portal. This is where you will go to sign your admission documents and make your enrollment fee payment when you are ready. Your Intern Portal is your home base that keeps all of your forms and requirements organized. We recommend you bookmark your portal for your convenience.

  1. Canvas

Canvas is your access to the training modules, assessments, projects and field based videos. You must go through your Intern Portal to access your coursework. Please follow the instructions below to access your coursework:

When in the Intern Portal, you will select Menuà Training Progressà Classroom Readiness Training. This will take you to the page to see all of your required coursework for phase one and two of the program. You must select the course you wish to complete through the intern Portal. Once you have selected the course you wish to complete, you will get redirected to your Canvas account to complete and enroll in the module. You will follow this process for each and every one of your courses.

You will also have projects to complete, however, we advise that you complete the projects during your Internship year of teaching since they are more practical applications. If you would like to get them out of the way, feel free to do so but they are not necessary in order to receive your Interim Teaching Certificate. The following modules (projects) are not necessary to complete as part of the Classroom Readiness training and can be completed during the first year on your Interim Teaching Certificate:

  • MINT 700.1P Comprehensive Project- The Teacher
  • MINT 700.2P Comprehensive Project- The Learner
  • MINT 700.3P Comprehensive Project- Planning Lessons
  • MINT 700.4P Comprehensive Project- Instructional Strategies
  • MINT 700.5P Comprehensive Project- Assessing Learning
  • MINT 700.6P Comprehensive Project- The Learning Environment

***When operating Canvas, please use Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or Internet Explorer as your browser. Our Canvas modules are optimized to work best on these browsers. Mobile devices such as tablets or touch screen phones are not recommended.***

  1. CPR/First Aid Training Certificate CPR/First Aid approved providers

You will need an active CPR/First Aid Training Certificate before issuance of the Interim Teaching Certificate as well. You are allowed to complete a blended format (half online, half in-person) however, the CPR portion does have to be in-person. Once obtained, you can email in your certificate to teach@michiganteachers.org as a PDF file.

Again, congratulations and we are excited to formally welcome you to Michigan Teachers of Tomorrow!
