The 293 Science of Teaching reading is required ONLY for the following exams: 


  • 391 Core Subjects EC-6 
  • 211 Core Subjects 4-8 
  • 217 English Language Arts and Reading 4-8 
  • 113 English Language Arts and Reading/Social Studies 4-8 


When the intern requests one of the above exams, they will also need to request the STR exam and complete test prep for the STR before approval is granted.
