The Form RL or Residency License Form is a document that is required to be completed by both the educator preparation program (EPP) and the hiring school district in order for the candidate to earn their Residency License.

The Form RL should be completed for each residency license the candidate teaches on.  Year 1 and if needed Year’s 2 and 3.

There are two ways the Form RL can be completed:

  1. Once the intern has compelted their Job form, we have received verification of employment (VOE) and they have established payment, certification support can send the completed form RL to the hiring school district (It populates in their employment processing queue)
  2. The school district can send us the Form RL for us to complete our portion and return to the district.

Process:

  1. All Form RLs signed by the district may be sent to teach@northcarolinateachers.org.
  2. Once received, the advisor will need to confirm the certification area on the form that the intern will be teaching in is also an area that the intern has SMK for.
  3. Once confirmed, forward the Form RL to formrl@teachersoftomorrow.org
  4. Certification Support will process the form, complete our portion,  and send it back to the hiring district.

This will allow the district to move forward with the issuing of the Residency License
