• 12 credit hours (15 for Math or Science) in one specific certification area found on the applicants transcripts.  
    • Most common :
      • Social Studies 7-12 
      • Core Subjects 4-8 
  • Many Applicants receive a substantial amount of credits from a previous institution, other than th eone they graduated from.  Always ask for supplemental transcripts 
      • "We find that most individuals take their core classes in their first few years of college.  I would recommend sending in transcripts from any institution you attended prior to where y ou received your bachelor's degree from." 




The most common admission certification area is a 12 or 15 hour found on transcripts.  However, other items can count toward the admission certification area requirement.  These include: 


  • Passed PACT exams
  • Passed TExES exams
  • Approved SOQ
