- A Bachelor's degree is the most common basic skill
- Next most common is an Associate's Degree
- A Master's or Doctorate Degree trump a Bachelor's degree because they are a higher level of education, therefore they would count toward the basic skill requirement
- If the applicant has none of the above, the other basic skill options include:
- TSI (Texas Success Initiative) only found on most Texas university and college transcripts
- SAT/ACT test scores from the last 5 years
- Military experience (rare), Either 3+ years current active duty or honorabley discharged, retired or released from the armed forces.
- Proof of military experience can include a DD214. However this is typicall issued only upon separation. Active duty military will need provide other proof of experience.
