• A Bachelor's degree is the most common basic skill 
  • Next most common is an Associate's Degree 
  • A Master's or Doctorate Degree trump a Bachelor's degree because they are a higher level of education, therefore they would count toward the basic skill requirement 
  • If the applicant has none of the above, the other basic skill options include: 
    1. TSI (Texas Success Initiative) only found on  most Texas university and college transcripts 
    2. SAT/ACT test scores from the last 5 years 
    3. Military experience (rare), Either 3+ years current active duty or honorabley discharged, retired or released from the armed forces. 
      • Proof of military experience can include a DD214. However this is typicall issued only upon separation.  Active duty military will need provide other proof of experience.
