If an intern shows any of the following certifications in their TEA account, please reference the chart to determine what is needed
Type of Certificate | Documentation Needed |
Emergency Permit | Service Record |
1 year Cert | Service Record |
Probationary/Intern cert | Transfer form and letter of recommendation from principal whom they taught under during that year |
Non-Renewable Permit | Service Record |
Service Records - Send to Certification Support
Transfer Forms - Send to [email protected]
Letter of Recommendations - Send to [email protected] (see below for exceptions)
Example: Former Intern certificate - Requires Transfer Form and Letter of Recommendation
Example: Emergency Permit - Requires a Service Record only
Letter of Recommendation Exceptions:
If an applicant's previous intern or probationary certificate is very old (i.e. more than 5 years) and they are unable to get a letter of recommendation from their former principal whom they taught under during that year, we will accept a letter of recommendation from a principal outside their intern/probationary year of teaching. We will also accept a letter of recommendation from an HR representative with that school district they taught at on an intern/probationary certificate.
Non-Renewable Permits:
Non-Renewable permits are simply issued for a certification area for a single school year. They do NOT prevent the candidate from going through our program for that same certification area. The DO utilize one of the 3 temporary certificates available to a candidate prior to standard certification which is the reason we require a service record to confirm the utilization of their non-rewable certificate.
