For Interns who signed their intern agreement prior to January 17th, 2023.

Step 1: Please go to Prince and under documents, look for the intern agreement

Step 2: Review the first 3 paragraphs for the extension fees that pertain to the specific intern

Requirements Incomplete Payments:

  • Interns only pay for the time they need to extend in order to complete their requirements.
  • For Example: John Smith only needs to complete his supplemental coursework and internship project to qualify for his standard.  This may only take him 2 months on a probationary certificate to complete.
  • He would only pay for the 2 months neeed to complete his requirements, even though the certificate is issued for a full year.
  • Requirements incomplete extension fees can be found in the intern agreement under paragraph 3, first amount listed.
    • The intern agreement is located in the intern's Prince account under Documents.

Extension Fees for a requirements incomplete extension are paid only via ACH withdrawal, Payroll deduction and financing are not an option even if the intern elected either of those for their intern year of teaching.

The extension fee payment amount is divided into 8 monthly payments and the intern only pays for the time they need.

For Example: Intern John Smith's intern agreement states his extension fees are $2,500/year.  He would make 8 monthly payments of $312.50.  He only pays for the time he needs, so it is important that John notifies TOT once his requirements are complete to avoid additional payments.

For Interns who signed an Enrollment Agreement After January 18th, 2023.

Interns who signed the new enrollment agreement are subject to different extension fee payments, so it is important to always check the documents section of the prince account for the appropriate document signed.

Extension Fee information is located in paragraph 2(e).

Extension fee payments for these interns is $250 per month up to 24 months.   The intern will only pay for the time they need to extend for a requirements incomplete extension.
