Late Hire Eligible:

  • Your enrollment date makes you late hire eligible for the next 45 days during the 23-24 school year.
  • This is a great opportunity to take advantage of in order to streamline your route to the classroom
  • If your goal is to be teaching in the classroom as soon as possible,  all you have to do is pass your content exam in order to gain access to your SOE and be eligible for your intern certificate and for hire within that 45 day window.
  • Once you pass your content exam you will want to act fast as you only have 45 days from your enrollment date of XX/XX/XXXX to get hired to teach on an intern certificate.
  • Your SOE will populate in your intern portal upon passing your exam(s) and indicate when your late hire eligibility expiration date is and confirm the date you will need to be hired by.
  • Once hired to teach on your intern certificate, you will have an additional 90 school days after you start teaching to complete your required courses and 30 hours of field-based experience.
  • Focus on passing your exam first once enrolled in the program to become late hire eligible.
  • Once Hired, make your field-based experience and required online courses your priority to remain in compliance.

 Additional Late Hire info:

  • Your late hire eligibility status is only valid for the immediate 45 days after your enrollment date.
  • In order to qualify, you must accept your admission offer and pay your enrollment fee.
  • If you are not hired within your 45 day window after enrollment, you will have to have your content test passed plus have your required courses and field-based experience complete to be eligible for your SOE and for hire.
