1. Intern/Applicant identifies themselves as a verteran over the phone or via email. 
  2. Advisor informs intern that we only acccept Voc Rehab benefits.  Also known as, Chapter 31 benefits through the VA. 
    1. Benefits we do NOT accept include: 
      1. Montgomery GI Bill 
      2. Post-911 GI Bill
      3. reserve Educational Assistance Program (REAP) 
      4. Chapter 35 Survivors' and Dependents' EAP 
      5. Hazelwood ACT
  3. Advisor collects Intern/Applicant name, intern ID, name of VA counselor, phone and email of VA counselor and emails it to VA@teachersoftomorrow.org. 
  4. VA- Program Advisor then reaches out to the VA counselor to complete necessary 1905 document on behalf of the intern. 
  5. There can be a delay in receiving the funds for the enrollment fee due to the processing time for the 1905 form on the VA side.  It is important that the advisor communicates this to the intern to avoid future escalations 
  6. Sometimes, the intern can pay the enrollment fee to get started and then be reimbursed at a later date from the VA.
